We love all things autumn. And all things popcorn. And this little combination is so good. I usually mix up a big batch of the sugar and spices and then just add the amount I like to cover the popcorn to taste. The recipe below is a good amount for the one batch the recipe makes.
3 Tablespoons oil
½ cup popcorn kernels
¼ cup powdered sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1- 1 ½ teaspoons salt (to taste)
Directions and Notes:
2. Put the oil and 3 popcorn kernels into a heavy-bottomed pan.
3. Heat the pan over medium-high heat. As soon as the first kernel pops, add the remaining kernels from the ½ cup measurement and cover the pot immediately. Give the pot a brief shake to coat the kernels with oil and then allow the popcorn to pop until the popping slows almost to a stop.
4. Remove the pot from the heat and pour the popcorn into a large bowl.
5. Sprinkle the powdered sugar mixture over the popcorn and toss to coat.
