In my American Society & Culture class, I really try to focus on students experiencing elements of American culture rather than emphasizing facts. I also try to avoid reading long final exams, so I use this final culture project to give students a chance to further explore an aspect of culture than most interests them and share their findings with the class.
I ask students to work in groups of 2-4 (depending on the overall size of the class) and they choose one option from the project board. They are allowed to submit other ideas as well. Students must give me their topics and plans at least a few days in advance for approval. Students really enjoy this project and it’s always lots of fun to see what they do.
Note: It can be really helpful to plan enough time between presentations for you, the teacher, to help correct any misconceptions seen in the presentation or performance.
DesignWikipedia: Design is the creation of a plan or convention for the construction of an object or a system. Design has different connotations in different fields. In some cases the direct construction of an object is also considered to be design. →
